At Pristine Home Care we understand the struggles that seniors of the LGBTQ+ face on a daily. We understand the battle LGBTQ+ seniors have had to fight against disrespect, cruelty, and ostracism. We understand that while it has become widely acceptable to identify as LGBTQ+, many older members of the LGBTQ+ community have to had to face harsh discrimination growing up and throughout their lifetime to identify as such.

Unfortunately, it is estimated that 9 out of every 10 older LGBTQ+ individuals fear their caregivers will discriminate against them if they were open about their sexuality. Having a caregiver who is kind, accepting, and trained in how to address this fear is critical to the care of LGBTQ+ individuals.
At Pristine Home Care we have committed ourselves to helping LGBTQ+ individuals grow older with grace. We’ve taken the effort and time to participate in SAGE training, an amazing program that educates providers on how to create inclusive spaces that understand the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals. SAGE training has helped us to actively meet those needs in a safe and welcoming way.
Our staff and executives have all participated in SAGE training courses, delving into the topics that specifically affect the LGBTQ+ community, such as understanding LGBTQ+ diversity, reducing stigma around HIV, how to care for older transgender individuals, and more.
Pristine Home Care has not only participated in SAGE training but is also the first home care center in Pennsylvania to become SAGE Platinum certified as well!
